General Impressions
Yondera
Garnet of the Gods
To this day, Antüran cities are revered for their architectural beauty and immaculate design. The First Emperor of Irreghan, Adonius Rex, dubbed the Antüran twin-capital of Yondera 'The Garnet of the Gods', and the moniker stuck. According to legend, upon first laying eyes on it after a long journey through the wild, thick underbrush of the Antür Woodlands, Adonius famously washed his feet in a nearby freshwater stream before entering the city gates, as a gesture of humility. He ordered all in his company, from lowly bagmen to his most esteemed nobles & venerated Generals, to do the same. This tradition held for centuries, until the recent popularization of airship travel, which rendered the custom too time-constraining in the eyes of Yondera's powerful merchant guilds. As such, most who come to the city today do so with their feet booted, and dry.

Rural living
Elvish settlements within the deeper Antüran woodlands are typically established some storeys below the forest canopy, and nestled high above the underbrush. Yrewood, Spurrish, and Aquifir trees, responsible for infrastructure, produce, and water supply, are the result of centuries' worth of cross-breeding different types of tree, until three highly-resilient strains that suited elven needs were developed. Rural settlers rely, whenever possible, on manual pulley systems and other weight-based methods of transportation when moving between places within the settlement. Roads through the underbrush are well-maintained, as any trade goods or supplies would have to arrive via caravan or great owl, as there is no room on the forest floor for rail tracks, and while airships can navigate the dense woodland canopy, it is easy to find any settlement that does not have an airdock which protrudes through the treeline.
