The Shatter

Named for the odd, fragmenting effect this otherworldly force has on its environment, The Shatter has overtaken nearly all of Summoner's Plain, where it has continued to warp the landscape unabated since the end of the famous battle which took place there at the end of Aegis' Wake.

Attempts to study its behaviour, or assess its impact on the land and wildlife of the region, have been met with abject failure. Lacking the capability to investigate its origins, purpose, or conditions for dispersal, we are left with speculation based on reports from those who've come into contact with it:

Gwillero Miles, a courier for the Red Raven Caravan Company, while on contract to retrieve a lost heirloom from a nearby battlefield, claims to have witnessed a near-perfect reflection of himself within The Shatter, screaming soundlessly in a black void.

Telwyn Morgensau II, a private aviator, gave a shockingly accurate account of some key moments from the Battle of Summoner's Plain, which he claims to have seen taking place during a flight of fancy, 13 years after the battle had already concluded.
