Voracism

Might is Right-to-Rule

Due to a long-running cultural conflation of state & spiritual affairs in Voran society, it should be noted that Voracism, in and of itself, is not a comparably religious concept to other Destrean schools of thought. The Voracic faithful are, in essence, an extremist sect of Elementists who view Vorac'nath'al as the rightful ruler of not only the Voran Empire, but of the realm as a whole. Their worship of the Voran state is evidently an extension of this mindset, as the faith itself has come to embody the assumed superiority & vast ambition of the Elder Dragon, and her people.

Voracic Blood Rites

An outlawed practice still thought to be kept, in secret, by followers of Voracism, which states that their victories in battle must be punctuated by the ritualistic consumption of the heart of an enemy combatant. According to myth, when the ritual is undertaken, the organ's consumer shall be infused with arcanic essence from the Elder Dragon herself.

Manifest Elementaris

Dragonkin Supremacy, or 'Manifest Elementaris', is a fundamentalist interpretation of the more holistic schools of Destrean thought, altered to suit the Voracic narrative. It cites the Elementist foundational myth, which claims the races of Destrea were each borne of some element found in nature (i.e. Humans from the dirt, snow, and mud & Orcs from the grass, clay, etc), as justification that the Dragonkin (being of fire, brimstone, etc.) are comparatively superior due to their greater capacity for withstanding of harsh climates.

Vorac'nath'al, depicted on a mural, rising from the depths of Voran Rock to enact the Final Conquest (as prophesied in the latter edicts of The Draconomicon, the holy text of the Voracic faith).

The Ten Flames

Each of the Elder Dragons is said to have possessed not only the Draconic Aspects (for which The Legionate is so-known), but also a unique flame that could be unleashed by only them. They are (translated from Voraci):

The 1st Flame – Whiteboon, which nourishes.

The 2nd Flame Goldgust, which tempers.

The 3rd Flame Redburn, which cleanses.

The 4th Flame Tawnspurn, which compels.

The 5th Flame Slatestrike, which levels.

The 6th Flame Jadelash, which guides.

The 7th Flame Azurend, which expands.

The 8th Flame Mauvebright, which spawns.

The 9th Flame Blackthirst, which condemns.

Various dye sands are used by Voracic Sang'preii (blood-priests) to change the colour of flames produced by their braziers, allowing their faithful to pray to the appropriate flame to suit their calls to the Dragon Mother. The 10th Flame is never to be named.
